EARLY MORNING CRASH ON THE SOUTHERN STATE

In the early Morning hours of Friday, December 27,2013 The North Babylon Vol. Fire Company was alerted to a motor vehicle accident on the Southern State. Babylon Central Fire Alarm notified 1st Assistant Chief Rob Cabano en route that possibly 2 occupants got ejected and 1 more was still pinned in the car. Chief Cabano re-toned for heavy rescue forthwith and requested aviation to respond.

Upon Arriving on scene it was learned that the 2 occupants got helped out of the vehicle by good Samaritans. Heavy Rescue 15 was put to work and with the help of all other units on scene the 3rd person was extricated from the vehicle. One person was air lifted to University Hospital Stony Brook in critical condition. The two other people were transported to local hospitals in serious condition. All units were under command of Chief Tom Jordan. The crash is currently under investigation by the New York State Police.
